One Insights Print Group.
For over a century and a half, we have been part of the story of South African newspapers. Our heritage began as the print division of the Argus Group, followed by Independent Media. In 2017, we became an independent company, and in 2025, we adopted the name Insights Print Group.
Today, we operate one of the country’s largest printing facilities in Durban, a newly commissioned printing plant in Johannesburg, and work with strategic partners in Cape Town — extending our reach across every province in South Africa.

The Beginning
Our roots trace back over 150 years as one of South Africa’s earliest newspaper printers and distributors, supporting the growth of journalism and literacy in the nation.
1870s – 2020
Part of a Legacy Group
For more than a century, our print division operated as the printing arm of the Argus Group and later Independent Media, building deep industry expertise, trust and long-standing client relationships.
2017
A New Chapter
The print division unbundled from Independent Media to become an autonomous commercial entity — Insights Publishing — marking the start of our independent journey focused on growth and innovation.

Building & Expanding
We invested in people, technology and infrastructure — strengthening our core capabilities in printing, inserting, distribution and design while forging strategic partnerships across South Africa.
